We were so happy to be back together after our inclement weather days! We shared smiles, stories, and a few special moments spent revisiting the snowy fun. Friends loved taking time to look at pictures of themselves enjoying their favorite things in the snow — a wonderful way to reconnect and reflect.
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, Letter M could not have arrived at a better time. M is for Mail! Friends were delighted to make and send valentines to one another through our very own Smart Start Mail. Writing names, decorating cards, and delivering messages added excitement and meaningful literacy practice to our celebration.
Throughout the week, our explorations were filled with curiosity and creativity. Some friends investigated how to use a microscope, discovering how everyday objects can look extraordinary up close. Others designed beautiful mosaics, carefully arranging pieces to create colorful works of art. Friends made mini pancakes and mini muffins featuring blueberries lovingly preserved by Ms. Christy — a delicious and memorable experience!
Friends marched and moved, channeling their energy into rhythm, music, and joyful motion. Others became teachers as a game of Night at the Museum brought about an opportunity for listening and following directions. We cherished our time outside, where imaginations ran wild as friends went to work on airplanes, roll down hill, and play tag.
Inside the classroom, creativity continued to bloom. Friends constructed towering block structures and explored new building possibilities using mirrored Magnatiles, discovering reflections, symmetry, and innovative ways to design towers. Dramatic play was full of nurturing moments as friends pretended to be babysitters, while others engineered intricate marble run courses.
A simple mirror inspired extraordinary imagination — transforming into everything from a television to a surveillance system!
Letter M week was filled with movement, making, measuring, and meaningful moments. Most of all, it was a celebration of friendship and a joyful time to reconnect with each other!
See you soon,
