Last week at Smart Start was filled with many of our favorite things! Friends spent the week learning, creating, imagining, and celebrating together as we begin wrapping up another wonderful year.
Throughout the week, children transformed into superheroes, explored dramatic play through dress up and our hair salon, and worked together to build incredible creations using Legos, big blocks, and marble runs. Our classroom was full of creativity, teamwork, and problem solving as friends designed towers, tracks, and imaginative worlds together.
We also spent time strengthening our fine motor skills in playful ways. Friends reviewed letters in shaving cream, explored textures while working in kinetic sand, and practiced using their hands with purposeful play invitations throughout the classroom.
Outside, our outdoor classroom was full of excitement and exploration. Children moved rocks using an excavator, balanced and giggled together on the teeter totter, and continued building and creating with large blocks in new ways.
One of the sweetest parts of our week was celebrating birthdays with friends! We always treasure the opportunity to make special memories together and celebrate the joy each child brings to our classroom community.
Much of our week was also spent preparing and practicing for Celebration. We are incredibly proud of how hard our students worked and the wonderful job they did during our performances and presentations. Their confidence, growth, and joy truly shined. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our families for your support, encouragement, and partnership throughout this school year. It has been such a blessing to learn and grow alongside your children.
As a reminder, although Russell County Schools are not in session on Tuesday, Smart Start will still be in session for our makeup week.
See you soon,
The Smart Start Team
