No-Sew Rag Rug Workshop
Up-Cycle • Create • Make It Yours

Class Description
Give New Life To Old Fabrics & Create Something Beautiful! Transform your old, unused bed sheets into beautiful, long-lasting home decor in our No-Sew Up-Cycle Rag Rugs workshop. This hands-on, two-hour beginner class teaches you how to create stylish, custom rugs without the need for sewing machines. By upcycling textiles, you'll learn a new craft while directly helping to divert waste from landfills. These handmade, versatile rugs are exceptionally tough and durable, making them the perfect sustainable addition to any space in your home. You'll Learn: - How to create a no-sew rag rug - Tips for choosing and prepping fabrics - Techniques for a strong, durable rug - How to finish your rug at home Materials are PARTIALLY provided––please bring an old bedsheet to up-cycle. Please note: Creating a rag rug is a process, and participants are unlikely to complete the entire rug during the workshop. But don't worry––you'll leave with the knowledge and confidence to continue working on your rug at home, along with a wooden rag-rug needle to keep! While this workshop is designed with adult participants in mind, creative students ages 12 and up are also welcome to register. This workshop will be led by Educator and Artist, Lyn Stanton, Friday September 4, 2026 at ArtWorks. Please contact us at admin@artworksrc.org with any questions!
