2022/2023: Weeks 11 & 12
Week 11 was short due to Thanksgiving Break, but we still managed to squeeze in a lot of fun and learning.
Week 12 kicked off our countdown to Christmas! Students returned from Thanksgiving Break in high spirits. We spent this week learning about the letter G. We had many conversations about gratitude, gifts, giving, and generosity. Our students played games, made green ornaments, designed gingerbread men, engineered with gumdrops, and played with things that go. We practiced writing in glitter, squished gooey slime, practiced wrapping gifts, and used gems to practice spelling names. We welcomed a special guest to Circle Time. Mr. David, our beloved facilities manager, stopped by Smart Start to teach the students a few things about the guitar. He even wrote a special song for the day in celebration of the letter G! Tasty science had us thinking about mixing and ingredients and how heat changes things while baking gingerbread.
