Smart Start Week 10: Happy New Year!
The excitement was palpable as we returned to the classroom and studio this week. Everyone had loads of stories to tell about Christmas, playing in the snow and family adventures. We did a lot of sharing and listening. We turned those stories into art and enjoyed spontaneous outbursts of Christmas sing-a-longs! It was so sweet to be together again!
The theme for Week 10 was ice. We introduced the letter I, explored ice and its properties, and created with icy textures and colors.
We got moving and grooving as we reviewed letter shapes and sounds!
And, as always, we spent a lot of time exploring, playing, and discovering.
Next week, we will continue our icy explorations!
❤️ Head's Up!
We will celebrate Valentine's Day on Wednesday, February 10th for the M/W group and on Thursday, February 11th for the T/Th group. Next week, will begin constructing our Smart Start Post Office where they can mail and receive Valentines on the 10th & 11th. Students are encouraged to bring in Valentine Cards for their classmates on those days. If you would like to send additional treats, that is welcomed, but certainly not required.
